Student Announcements:

 NO MS. LIND TODAY:  All of Ms. Lind’s students should remain in their classrooms.

No Nurse Today – Students should call home if they are sick.

 Student Leadership Team:  The following Student Leadership Team members need to turn in permission slips for the Halloween Carnival:  Walker, Riley, Connor, Sophia, Tiernan, Sequoia, Lucy, Kylie.  Bring them to the regular meeting today at 3:10.

 Attention ALL Seward Parents & Students:    You are invited to an interactive meeting with the KPBSD curriculum director, Dr. Doris Cannon.

 Purpose:    Talk about the curriculum revision process and to express your needs as parents and students in regards to the curriculum and the resources.

 Place/Time:  Seward Elementary library, October 26, 2012 6:30-8:00p.m.    SNACKS will be provided : )

 Six Word Novels

Friday is the last day to submit 6 word novels.  Please remember submissions should include first and last name as well as grade level.  If this is not included submissions will be discarded.  Full submission guidelines are available outside of Ms. Lind’s classroom. 

 Lunch Librarylibrary will be closed during lunch and recess next Tuesday and Wednesday for the book fair.

 FALL BOOK FAIR 2012 – WHERE EVERY READER IS A STAR!

  • Halloween is extra special this year as your class gets to visit the Book Fair during school on this day!
  • The Book Fair will also be open during parent teacher conferences on Thursday from 8-4 and Friday from 8-1. 
  • The Online Fair will be open October 24th to November 13th: www.scholastic.com/fair in case you want to shop early or decide you want to do some more shopping after the Book Fair leaves town. 

Book Fair Facts:  the average cost of a book at the Fair is $5.00.  All profits from the Fair go to buy more books for you to read!

 Welcoming All Fifth and Sixth Graders to Art Club run by Madi Athey and Lilly Watkins!

Wednesdays at noon in the science lab.

 Music News!  Every Friday in November, The Seahawk’s Voice will be having a musical babysitting session from 5pm-7pm.  Cost is $10 per child (only $5/hour!).

 Basketball: Due to Halloween and Parent/Teacher Conferences, Basketball will begin on Tuesday, November 6th and goes through Thursday December 6th.  Get your paperwork in soon.

 Seward Tsunami Swim Club News

Seward Tsunami Swim Club will be hosting a Fun Swim and Tryouts
November 4th, 2:00-3:30 at the High School Pool. 
If you are interested in joining our club please attend.
Children ages 6-18 are invited and must be comfortable in the pool and able to swim one length unassisted.

This is a great opportunity to see what our club is all about

Keep Recycling: Pick up on Wednesdays.

TYC and Park and Rec Happenings

  • 10/31 Fall Halloween Carnival at the Railroad Terminal.
  • Middle School Dance – Fri, Nov 9th from 7 to 9:30pm – $5
  • Tri-Fun-A-Thon Fri, Nov 16th; 6 – 11pm. TYC FUNdraiser. After raising money for the TYC 5 – 6th graders are invited to dance, swim and skate. Great prize for the top fundraiser! 4th graders are also welcome ask Maggie for details 224-4054.
  • 5th / 6th grade Holiday social Semi Formal Dance at the TYC Fri, Dec 7th from 7 to 9pm $5 at the door.

“Schools Out” Vacation and Day CampsMon to Fri   7:45 am to 5:30 pm Join us for days filled with fun!  Field Trips, Arts & Crafts, Baking & Cooking, Outdoor Fun, Gym Time, Movies & Popcorn, Treats & Prizes, Team-Building Games, Computer Games And More!

Camp Info: Campers need to bring a lunch, morning & afternoon snacks or money for the Snack Shack Early registration is encouraged as limited space available. Camps are non-transferable and non-refundable Winter Break Camp 1Week of Dec 24 to 28 (no camp Dec 25); Winter Break Camp 2 – Week of Dec 31 to Jan 4 (no camp Jan1)
