Today is Jump Rope for Heart. Be sure & bring in your permission slip. If you have pledges, be sure and bring those too & turn in both when you report to the gym.

The first day of practice is Tuesday, February 18th. Practices will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:15 to 4:15. Pick up a permission slip at the office (only if you haven’t filled one out before) and bring it in along with your $15 fee by the first day. Don’t forget to arrange a ride! ~ Coach DeBoard and Coach Fraad

The Spring Healthy Futures Challenge is HERE! February Logs are due no later than March 5, 2014. Be sure to completely fill out your log including your first/last name and teacher’s name. Turn them in to either Mrs. Lyon or Mrs. Fabian. The February incentive is a Reflective Wristband!
*Students who complete three Logs are eligible to win one of four grand prize sports packages valued up to $300.

Get active, remember to fill out your log, and have fun!

Seward Elementary School is proud to partner with the American Heart Association for its annual Jump Rope for Heart event. Please help a school child raise funds for this awesome jump-roping marathon that betters the lives of all of us!

FORENSICS: Hi , 4th, 5th, and 6th graders! We will practice every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in Mrs. Glaser’s room. Please try to make at least two practices a week.

TYC’s School’s Out Day Camps & Vacation Break Camps: Join us for days filled with arts & crafts, baking, outdoor adventures, cooperative games & team building, movies & popcorn, music & dancing, science experiments and more! Camps run 7:45am-5:30pm daily. Campers need to bring a lunch, morning and afternoon snacks or money for the Snack Shack. Get the best rate for day camps with early registration (three weeks before camp). Space is limited. School’s Out Day Camps are on the following dates: 3/7 and 4/18. Early Bird rate is $15 (3 weeks prior to camp)/Regular rate $20 (up to 1 week prior)/$25 drop in rate space permitting. Spring Break Camp is 3/10-3/14. Early Bird rate is $100 (3 weeks prior), Regular rate $110 (2 weeks prior), $125 thereafter space permitting. TYC offers Tier discounts to families who qualify for AK food stamps programs, Denali Kid Care, WIC, and free or reduced lunches. Seward Teen & Youth Center’s After School Program is in full swing! ASP emphasizes cooperative play, sports, environmental science, outdoor play, creative arts, homework help, music appreciation and social enhancement. Children can chose from a number of daily activities from science experiments, to baking projects to board games to field trips to a local park and much much more! ASP runs Monday-Friday from 3:20-5:30pm. Children may catch a ride on bus #3 from school. There is a $3 daily drop in fee or punch cards are available, $30 for 10 visits for $50 for 20 visits, or Annual Booster Passes are available for $200. There are scholarships available as well.
