Minds in Motion: The mind and body of a young child are constantly on the move.
Explore the world through creative adventures this summer with the Boys & Girls Club of Seward. Each week will be centered around an ecological theme and art medium. Our nature based art activities are designed to teach kids about the environment, as well as increase observation skills, problem solving abilities, and confidence. Supplementary activities include singing, athletics, field trips, and games.

28th Annual Stylin’ Stitches Diaper Derby Sat, Apr 19th; 10 to 11:30am at the Sports and Rec (AVTEC) Gym for Newborn to 24 months. Best dancer, chubbiest legs, biggest eyes… parents sign your boy or girl up before Wed, April 16th, sorry no on-site registration.

Telalaska Spring Classic Volleyball Tourney Apr, 26th Telalaska and SPRD are proud to present the 12th annual Telalaska volleyball tournament! Bring your Adult (18 years or older) league down for some competitive volleyball. Tournament format will be based on the number of entries. Call 224-4011 or email sprd@cityofseward.net

Terry’s Tires Bike Safety Rodeo Sat, May 10th featuring Shoreside Petroleum’s Helmet Junction. FREE event from 10am to 12 noon… bike inspections, bike education, helmet junction, barrel racing, obstacle course, pump it up, prizes and the SPD Chuckwagon! T-shirts to the first 75 participants.

Super Saturday Cleanup Sat, May 10th. We need your help to clean up the town! Join the annual community litter and trash cleanup day! Prizes for those who collect the most trash! All prizes donated by area businesses. Pick up bags at Sports & Rec (519 4th Ave) from 10 to 4pm. For more information call 224-4011.

British Soccer Camps 2014
More campers, more coaches, more great new games and practices and much more free stuff! Seward Parks and Recreation June 23rd – June 27th. Camp includes free ball and t-shirt.

TYC NEWS
Come check out Seward Teen & Youth Center’s After School Program for K-6th grades! ASP emphasizes cooperative play, sports, environmental science, outdoor play, creative arts, homework help, music appreciation and social enhancement. Children can chose from a number of daily activities from science experiments, to baking projects to board games to field trips to a local park and much much more! ASP runs Monday-Friday from 3:20-5:30pm. Children may catch a ride on bus #3 from school. There is a $3 daily drop in fee or punch cards are available, $30 for 10 visits for $50 for 20 visits, or Annual Booster Passes are available for $200. There are scholarships available as well. Come check us out! TYC is located at 3rd Avenue & Jefferson below the Senior Center on the alley side. 224-5472
Rec Nights, New at TYC! Parents-need to make a meeting, recreation sport league or social gathering but not sure what to do with the kids? Come check out K-6 Rec Nights at TYC! Monday evenings from 6 – 8:30pm starting Tuesday, April 2nd. Structured activities from crafts & baking to games and tourneys. $5 Drop in. Call Maggie at TYC for more info: 224-5472.
