1. Calling all Battle of the Books Students!
3. Our Celebration Pizza Lunch will be this Wednesday, March 25 from 12:30 – 1:00 in the science lab.
4. All students who participated in Battle of the Books practices are invited!
5. You will not need to bring a lunch as a pizza lunch will be provided.
7. See you there!

WORD OF THE DAY: Zither (noun) – stringed instrument. He’s a pretty good guitar player, but I’m not sure he’s ever tried his hand at the zither.
ALASKAN FACT: Alaska boasts both the highest point (Mount Denali at 20,306 feet [6,189 m]), and the lowest point (the Aleutian Trench at 25,000 feet [7,620 m] below sea level) in North America.

Youth Soccer
The sun is shining, days are getting longer…..and SPRD is busy planning our upcoming soccer season. We have the following spring & summer soccer events in the works!

• Challenger Sports will be offering a FREE Soccer Clinic in Seward, Tuesday April 28th. This is a great opportunity for your child to experience the British Soccer Camp as well as to register for our upcoming summer soccer camp.

• Seward Youth Soccer League Soccer Play Day at the Elementary Soccer Field Mon, June 15th at 2pm. Kick off another great season of youth soccer at SPRD’s Soccer Play Day. Kids ages 3-12 are invited to learn drills, go through skill stations and play games. Soccer play day is a great introduction to the sport and a great refresher for the soccer league veterans.

• On-line Registration is now available for the British Soccer Camp, to be held June 22 to 26. Register now to receive over $100 in gifts!;

• Stylin’ Stitches Youth Soccer League will be held on Mon & Wed nights from July 6 to Aug 12. Registration forms are now available at under Sports and Recreation Department. We are currently recruiting volunteer soccer coaches. Please let us know if you would be willing to help this season.


The Boys & Girls will be CLOSED Monday, March 16th – April 10th. We look forward to seeing your children on Monday, April 13th.
